The licence and what it means
Cat C is the rigid lorry licence — vehicles over 3.5 tonnes used in retail delivery, construction supply, waste management and local authority haulage. How training works
Before practical training begins, you need a provisional licence for the category you are applying for. If that is not in place yet, we will explain exactly what is required. The sequence from there runs through theory test, medical, practical training and your driving test — we coordinate everything, including Driver CPC initial qualification for those taking their first licence in that category.

Courses available
We offer Cat C, Cat C+E, Cat C1 and Cat C1+E. For drivers who want to increase their value to employers from day one, ADR covers hazardous goods carriage and HIAB covers loader crane operation — both are in consistent demand across Yorkshire’s construction, retail and industrial sectors. Pass Protection provides an additional test attempt and preparation time if it is needed.
After qualifying
