HGV Training for Drivers Based in Gillingham
Gillingham sits at the centre of one of the busiest commercial corridors in the South East. The Medway towns have a long history in logistics, engineering, and freight — and the demand for qualified HGV drivers in and around the area reflects that. If you have been thinking about making the move into a driving career, you are in a good place to do it.
Drivers based in Gillingham can access HGV training through our network. There is a school close to the town, which means you can get started without the added complication of travelling far.
What the Process Looks Like
The first conversation sets everything in motion. We find out where you are starting from — your current licence, your goals, and what your week looks like — and then we take it all on from there. Course selection, the medical, the administration, and the test bookings are all managed on your behalf.
Your coordinator is the same person throughout. You are not repeating yourself to different staff members or chasing updates — they are actively managing your case and keeping you informed. Once you qualify, the support continues into employment. We help you find the right role and include a CV rewrite as part of the service. HGV drivers typically earn between £35,000 and £50,000 a year, depending on experience, licence category, and employer. |

Training Routes Available Through Our Network
Cat C — rigid vehicles — is the most common starting point for new drivers. From there, Cat C+E adds the articulated trailer entitlement, often called Class 1, and opens up a significantly wider range of work across the haulage and logistics sector.
We also coordinate Cat C1 for medium vehicle licences, including those required for paramedic driving and some specialist roles, plus Category C1+E, Horsebox Driver Training, HIAB, ADR, and Driver CPC for drivers building on or maintaining an existing qualification.
The Medway area has a strong base of employers in freight, warehousing, and distribution. Getting the right licence puts you in a strong position to access that work directly.
Pass Protection
Pass Protection gives you one additional attempt at the practical test — either the 3A reverse exercise or the 3B driving test — along with one to two hours of further preparation time beforehand. It is there for drivers who want a safety net in place going into their first attempt. Terms and conditions apply. Speak to a member of the team for full details.
Fourteen Years Behind the Process
We have been coordinating HGV training since 2012. Over that time, the thing we have learned is that most drivers do not need more information — they need someone to take the complexity out of the process and manage it properly on their behalf. That is what we do.
Our 500+ verified Excellent reviews on Trustpilot reflect what that looks like from the driver’s perspective. Not just a course booked, but a journey properly supported.
