Completing Category C1+E training means you can drive a total of 12 tonnes in a vehicle weighing between 3.5 and 7.5 tonnes (although the weight of the trailer may not exceed the unladen weight of the vehicle). While we usually recommend the Category C or C+E course, which gives you broader job opportunities for the same time and cost to train, you may not wish to drive larger trucks. If that’s the case, the C1+E is for you.

To help you prepare for your test, we offer a huge range of online learning materials and 1:1 support from our advisors.
A training advisor will contact you to schedule a convenient time to train. Once you begin, our experienced instructors will spend 3 days providing all the preparation you need to pass your practical test.
After passing your practical test (congratulations!), take your Driver CPC Initial Qualification (if applicable) and attend your two-day Direct Access work skills course. We have a great job search team available when you are ready to apply for LGV jobs in your area!
