HGV Training Isle of Sheppey

HGV Training for Drivers Based on the Isle of Sheppey

The Isle of Sheppey is not the most obvious place to start a logistics career — but it sits within easy reach of some of the busiest freight and distribution corridors in the South East. Drivers who qualify here have access to work across Kent, the Thames Estuary, and beyond. The demand is there. The question is usually just how to get the licence.

Drivers based on the Isle of Sheppey can access HGV training through our network. There is a school on the island itself, which means getting started does not require crossing the bridge for training.

Starting the Process

The first conversation is where we understand your situation — your current licence, what you are aiming for, and what works around your life. From there, we take over. Course selection, the paperwork, the medical, your theory and practical test bookings — all of it is managed on your behalf by a coordinator who stays with your case from start to finish.
Once you are qualified, we move into supporting your job search. That includes recruitment help and a CV rewrite included as part of the service. HGV drivers typically earn between £35,000 and £50,000 a year, depending on experience, licence category, and employer — and for drivers from the island looking to access better-paid work across Kent and beyond, that range reflects a meaningful shift.

Courses Available Through Our Network

Cat C is the rigid vehicle licence and the most common starting point. It opens the door to a solid range of commercial driving roles and is the foundation from which most drivers go on to Cat C+E, which adds the articulated trailer entitlement — also known as Class 1 — and significantly broadens the work available to you.

We also coordinate Cat C1 for medium vehicle requirements, including licences needed by paramedic students and specialist roles, along with Category C1+E, Horsebox Driver Training, HIAB, ADR, and Driver CPC for drivers who need to maintain or extend an existing qualification.

Not sure which licence suits your goals? That is the first thing we work out together on the call.

Pass Protection

Pass Protection gives you one additional attempt at your practical test — either the 3A reverse exercise or the 3B driving test — along with one to two hours of further preparation beforehand. It is there to give you a safety net on your first attempt. Terms and conditions apply. Speak to a member of the team for full details.

The Support Behind the Training

We have been coordinating HGV training since 2012. The process is built around the driver — clear communication throughout, someone who knows your file at the end of every call, and genuine support into employment when the licence is in hand. The island’s location on the Thames Estuary puts qualified drivers within reach of Kent’s freight and logistics sector, which has consistent demand for the right people.

Our 500+ verified Excellent reviews on Trustpilot reflect what that support looks like from the driver’s side.

Customer testimonials

First Time Pass

Thank you to all staff at The LGV training company. I was sent to a fantastic driving school in Hook where the instructors were fantastic and have an excellent knowledge of test routes and things to look out for. I was a bit nervous about taking my test on day 4, but in actual fact I passed first time with only 3 minors. I'd recommend The LGV training company to anyone adding additional entitlements to their licence or looking for employment within the sector.

Professional Service by Helpful & Friendly Staff

After explaining that my husband needed to take his CPC module 4 ASAP, we were very quickly contacted by a member of the booking team who offered us a cancellation for the following week. After completing the training, he passed first time. Thank you for your professional service throughout.
