HGV Training in Cannock
Cannock sits between two of the UK’s busiest logistics regions — the West Midlands to the south and the wider Staffordshire and East Midlands network to the north and east. The town has its own growing distribution infrastructure, and the A5, M6 Toll and M6 put drivers here within straightforward reach of a job market that spans Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Lichfield and beyond.
Drivers based in Cannock can access HGV training through our network.

What qualifying gives you
Cat C is the rigid lorry licence — vehicles over 3.5 tonnes covering delivery, construction supply, retail logistics and public sector operations. Cat C+E is the articulated combination licence, which opens access to trunk routes, third-party logistics and national freight work. Both qualifications are held for life and recognised across the UK.
Cannock’s logistics parks have expanded significantly in recent years, and the town’s road connections mean that drivers based here are not limited to local roles. The West Midlands conurbation, the M6 corridor north and the East Midlands distribution network are all within practical reach once you are licensed.
How training works
Before practical training can begin, you need a provisional licence for the category you are applying for. If you do not have one yet, we will explain exactly what is required before anything else is arranged. The sequence from there is theory test, medical, practical training and your driving test — we coordinate all of it, including Driver CPC initial qualification for those taking their first licence in that category.
Timelines depend on the course you choose, your existing driving experience and test availability in your area. We give you a clear and accurate picture at the start, not an estimate that changes once you are enrolled.
Courses available
We offer Cat C, Cat C+E, Cat C1 and Cat C1+E. For drivers who want to extend their options from the outset, ADR covers the carriage of hazardous goods and HIAB covers loader crane operation — both are valued by operators across Staffordshire and the wider Midlands. Pass Protection provides an additional test attempt and preparation time if it is needed.
After qualifying
We include CV support and job referral assistance as part of the package. Cannock’s own distribution base is growing, and the surrounding area offers a wide range of operators across retail, construction and specialist haulage. If you want help identifying roles and presenting your licence to employers, that support is available from the start.
Find out what is right for you
The right course depends on your current licence, the type of work you are aiming for and how quickly you want to qualify. Our coordinators will set out the options and give you an honest, straightforward view of costs and timelines before you make any commitment.
