HGV Training in Bridgend
Bridgend sits on the M4 between Cardiff and Swansea, at the centre of one of Wales’s most active logistics corridors. The town has a long history in manufacturing and distribution, and the freight activity that supports the region’s retail, industrial and public sector operations creates consistent demand for qualified HGV drivers across the area.
Drivers based in Bridgend can access HGV training through our network.

What the licence opens up
Cat C is the rigid lorry licence — vehicles over 3.5 tonnes used in retail delivery, construction supply, waste management and public sector haulage. Cat C+E is the articulated combination licence, which gives you access to trunk routes, national freight work and third-party logistics operations. Both are recognised across the UK and held for life.
The M4 is one of the UK’s main freight arteries, and Bridgend’s position on it matters. Cardiff’s distribution hubs, Swansea’s port operations and the wider South Wales network are all within straightforward reach. Drivers who qualify here are not limited to local work — they are positioned on a corridor that connects to the rest of the country.
The training pathway
Before practical training begins, you will need a provisional licence for the category you are applying for. If that is not yet in place, we will tell you exactly what is required before anything else is arranged. The sequence runs through theory test, medical, practical training and your driving test — we coordinate all of it, with Driver CPC initial qualification included for those taking their first licence in that category.
Timelines depend on the course you choose, your existing experience and test availability in your area. We give you a clear picture at the start of the conversation so you can plan around it.
What is available
We offer Cat C, Cat C+E, Cat C1 and Cat C1+E training. For drivers who want to add to their employability from day one, ADR covers hazardous goods carriage and HIAB covers loader crane operation — both are sought by operators across South Wales’s construction, energy and manufacturing sectors. Pass Protection provides an additional test attempt and extra preparation time for those who want that security included.
After you qualify
We include CV support and job referral assistance as part of the package. South Wales has a range of operators — from national retailers with regional distribution centres to specialist haulage companies serving the area’s industrial base. If you want help positioning your new licence with employers, that support is there.
