Top Quality CPC Training Courses

Driver CPC Initial Qualification
Providing quality training for our Customers is always at the forefront of our minds. And as such we have created a Driver CPC Initial Qualification package to suit all of our trainees requirements.
Upon booking your Driver CPC Initial Qualification with The LGV Training Company you will be sent out your revision pack. Our CPC revision packs have been created by our dedicated Instructors to ensure all of our trainees are able to revise for not only their Module 2 theory test but their Module 4 practical demonstration test too!

In your pack you will be given your unique log in to access your theory revision online. The learning resource is fully interactive which means that your revision time will be enjoyable as well as informative! And don’t worry, if you get stuck you can always give one of our knowledgeable, friendly training advisors a call on 0871 508 9000 and they will be able to assist you! Another major benefit of having access to an online learning resource is we, as your training provider, are able to keep a track on your progress & ensure you are up to test standard before booking you in for your theory test. Your progress is monitored on an easy to read progress bar. The progress bar starts of red and as you progress through your training it will go through to amber and then finally on to green. When you are in the green zone you are fully prepared to book your theory test. This progress tracker ensures you KNOW when you are ready to book your theory test and gives you a better chance of passing your theory test first time. Our online learning recourse is also available to download as an app on most smart phones which means you can revise at a time that suits you; whether that be on the bus travelling to your theory test or grabbing half an hour on the sofa after the kids have gone to bed!

The Module 2 is a theory based case studies exam and is set to test your knowledge by presenting a variety of practical work place scenarios you may come across in your work and then asks you questions to test you on your understanding. You can expect to be given between 6 -8 case studies and will be asked between 5-10 questions on each. Much like the Hazard Perception & Multiple Choice test the Module 2 test itself will be conducted on a computer and lasts approximately 90 minutes. You will be required to get a score of at least 40 questions out of 50 questions in order to pass.

All theory tests are carried out on behalf of the DVSA by Pearson. Your theory test will be booked in at your local centre and your test will be sat in one of their suites, under exam conditions. To find your closest theory test centre please visit: https://www.gov.uk/driving-theory-test-centre for more information.

When you are ready to book in for your module 2 theory just give us a call so that we can check your progress & get your appointment scheduled in.

On the day of your theory test our training advisors will be working in the background monitoring your test result and will call you once your test has gone ahead for a catch up. Once you have completed and passed your Module 2 theory test we will then be able to get your appointment scheduled for your Module 4 training and test.

Find out more about each module on the Driver CPC. In your revision pack you will also be given practise test questions & revision materials for your Module 4 practical demonstration test. This means you can start thinking about the sorts of questions & answers you will need to give the Examiner before you even start your training day! At The LGV Training Company we believe that preparation is key and our proactive approach to our trainees learning means you are given valuable additional preparation time to build and perfect on your knowledge & skills.

The Module 4 tests your knowledge of your vehicle & how it should be operated safely and efficiently. On the test you will be asked to demonstrate to the examiner the following:

  • What checks must be carried out before the vehicle leaves for the day to ensure the vehicle and the journey ahead is safe
  • That your driving knowledge & skills comply with the appropriate regulations
  • That your driving skills enable you to drive in an eco-efficient and environmentally appropriate way

Before your test you will have a training session with your Instructor to cover all of the relevant areas in preparation for the test. You will be asked to complete show-me-tell-me questions, such as:

“Can you show me how you would check for splits & tears in your tyres?”
“Can you show me where to find your plating certificate?”
“Can you show me how you would check for illegal immigrants?”

On your training you will also gain experience in securing your load. You will be taught the ins & outs of each securing method & will then be asked to select which security method would be appropriate to your load. The Instructor will then ask you to demonstrate the use of this method by either using a demonstration trolley or by using the method in the back of your vehicle.

Your Module 4 training will be carried out at one of our local training depots with an Instructor. Your Instructor will have a wealth of experience and knowledge and will spend your training time testing your existing knowledge & passing on any information to you in areas you may have missed when revising. Our Instructor will then accompany you to the local DVSA practical test centre in your lorry ready for your test on hand to help you run over your answers & help you to calm down any pre-test nerves!

Remember not to worry as we all get nervous! Even the best drivers get nervous and trust us when we tell you that the ‘Elvis Presley’ legs are commonplace under test conditions!

Once you have completed your Module 4 your Instructor will meet you from your test ready to listen to your debrief with the Examiner. At The LGV Training Company we pride ourselves on our high first time pass rate for Module 4’s which is a testament to the commitment of our trainees who ensure they are fully prepared for their tests using the revision tools we have given them. We always hope our Trainees get through first time, but if for any reason this doesn’t happen the debrief is a great opportunity for both you and your Instructor to find out where you fell short & also highlights the areas that require work on straight away.

REMEMBER, PERIODIC TRAINING IN ANY FORM MAKES YOU MORE EMPLOYABLE!

Employers like to employ drivers who have already started &/or completed their periodic training requirement. “Why?” I hear you ask… well let’s think about it this way. If you are going for a job and are up against several other drivers who have the same skills & driving experience as you, guess who they are going to choose! Yes you got it right, the guy who made the effort to advance in to his further learning & made a commitment to his career to ensure he was as employable as possible. The other reason this is a massive benefit to your future employer is that it has been proven that Drivers who embark on further learning courses have better driving skills and are therefore less likely to have an accident, resulting in lower insurance premiums!
