Glasgow-based Palletline member Gordon Leslie (Distribution) says it is “very happy” after it doubled its profit as well as increased turnover for the year to September 2011.
Pre-tax profit went up to £405,286 in 2011 from £185,603 in the previous 12 month period – a 118% increase – while revenue rose 4% to £5.3m, from a figure of £5.1m in 2010.
Craig Leslie, MD, says: “We are very happy with the results.
“We have also seen an increase in our operating profit from £201,136 in the previous year to £447,620, mainly down to the diversification in to logistics and international freight.”
Wine and spirits distribution remains a mainstay of the business, although the firm says it wants to widen its client base and explore other areas of growth.
Leslie adds: “We are also into export packing and are optimistic about a number of pick and pack contracts that should start in the new year.”
In 2010, the firm moved into a new 70,000ft² facility in Edison Street in Hillington Park, Glasgow, on the site of the former Rolls Royce aircraft engines plant.
