On Sunday September 16th Steve Jackson completed the first of two Half Marathons, at The Great North Run, Newcastle in 2 hours and 2 minutes. Most of this was in pouring rain but he still managed to raise the fine sum of £1290 for the PDF Charity.
Steve used to be a lorry driver many moons ago, but has been driving a desk for some years now, so this makes his effort all the more special for lorry drivers.
His second Half Marathon is in Ireland on Sunday November 18th worryingly named ” Run The Gauntlet”, a course that goes through The Gap of Dunloe between the beautiful Lakes of Killarney.
Coming from the ‘flat fens’ this one will be even harder to complete as it is very hilly, but Steve is aiming to increase his total sponsorship to £2000 to be used to help lorry drivers in times of need, and keep the wheels of life turning a little better for them.
