The Fortec member’s latest order, which includes four Iveco Stralis artics and one 18-tonne rigid, will be used to help deliver the increase in volumes it has seen from both new and existing customers.
The new additions have increased the size of its fleet to 28 vehicles and are hoped to help the firm cope with the increased business it expects throughout the rest of the year in the run-up to Christmas.
MD Richard Clayton said: “Business is increasing. We’ve just picked up some customers that we have been courting for years after they switched from other operators. We hope we can deliver a better level of service [for them].”
The operator chose Iveco as it had built up a good relationship with the local dealer, which Clayton said was “always bending over backwards” to help if the company encountered problems with its vehicles.
It has also ordered four more curtainsided trailers from Dennison, which are expected to be delivered in September.
