POPULAR observational documentary Eddie Stobart: Trucks And Trailers will return to screens this Friday with a feature on the firm’s Widnes operation.
The third series of the show charts the progress of 150 new logistics apprentices being trained to acquire their HGV licences at the Eddie Stobart Training Academy on Foundry Lane, Halebank.
Young drivers coming through the academy undergo an intensive six-month training programme, in which they spend a minimum six weeks alongside experienced drivers gaining on-the-road experience.
Only then, upon successful completion of the course, are they brought into the business and introduced to life as an Eddie Stobart driver.
Previous series regularly had more than 1.8m viewers.
The new series also shows behind- the-scenes operations at the haulier and the inaugural Stobart Fest – a celebration of the company, its trucks, and its 20,000-strong fan club.
The Channel 5 show runs for eight weeks and starts at 8pm this Friday.
