Dennison Trailers MD James Dennison has paid tribute to operators, employees and family as the Lancaster-based manufacturer celebrated building its 40,000th trailer last week.
He said: “It has been 48 years Jim and George Dennison built the first trailer, using an axle from a second hand truck. Our 40,000th trailer represents an important milestone in the company’s history.
“As a company we have come through some hard times in recent years, and we appreciate the support we get from the industry,” he said.
The trailer, a tri-axle sliding skeletal painted silver, was handed over to Duncan Scillitoe, director of Collease.
Scillitoe said: “We have bought more than 2,000 trailers over the years from Dennison. The reason we stick with the manufacturer is because of build quality, reliability and the excellent residual values.”
He confirmed that he will order another 100 trailers next year.
